Edge Effects is a local business producing unique modern quilts, homewares and accessories - inspired by everyday patterns in geometry, nature and architecture. All pieces are designed by Danielle Hardie and are handmade in Hobart, Tasmania using natural fabrics of cotton and linen.
Infinity Scarves - Modern, patchwork infinity scarves are pieced with linen, and patterned and plain cotton fabrics. They can be worn long or wrapped around twice – twisted and shaped until the colours are where you want them.
Quilts and cushions - Stylish and contemporary quilts and cushion covers made from 100% cotton fabric with cotton batting, for warmth and breathability. Machine-sewn using well- established patchwork and quilting techniques, these items are machine washable and will improve with age and use.
Danielle uses a mix of solid and modern patterned fabrics and loves to use colour alongside neutral colours to add vibrancy to her designs.
Tasmanian coasters - Natural linen coasters that include machine-quilted motifs of Tasmania’s iconic natural features. These coasters come as a set of four with a different yet complementary design on each front. The Tasmanian motifs are machine-sewn on the products using a free-motion technique – like hand drawing with a sewing machine – so no two designs are the same.
The coasters are reversible and are made from linen and cotton. They are backed using beautiful, contrasting modern fabrics with natural tones and colours.
